Party Time

we went to a party for my friend Kelly's son Joseph who turned Two! The girls wore the dresses I made them and enjoyed playing with their friends.

Ella loved looking at the Puppy on the other side of the gate!

Rain Rain- I love Rainy Days!

The other day it was raining out and we got out our new rainboots which the girls LOVED and wouldn't hardly take off without a fight! I love kids in rain boots and coats... now we need to find raincoats because my girls love stomping in the rain outside. This particular day we couldn't go outside in our boots, b/c it was lightning, but next time we will really use our boots to stomp in the rain!

Our St. Patty's Day Celebrations!

I made cupcakes for the girls and for Daniel to celebrate, they were very delicious, I used a cream cheese icing with lemon zest and extract! yumm, the girls and Daniel enjoyed them.
Ava couldn't believe it was okay for her to keep eating the cupcake, so she kept looking at us to check!
Ella sucked all the icing off first!
We went to a party at our friends house during the day, it was a playdate with lots of other little ones running around, unfortunately we had to leave early because the girls were in different directions and I couldn't keep up being outside (which was very wet) and being inside all at the same time, so since I am not super mom, I got overwhelmed and we needed to leave early :(
Ella enjoyed running around the backyard!
Daniel does weight lifting using them, they love it! Ella in the air!
Sweet Ava, she thinks this is hilarious!

Dresses for my ladies!

here they are, the first 2 dresses I have made with my sewing machine!
Instead of sewing on straps, I decided to sew on ribbons for straps, so they would be adjustable.
Ava modeling the dress, she didn't want to take it off!

Toenails, Sunglasses and Baby strollers... oh my!

My girls have been so silly lately. Today we had to make a special trip to the store because they both NEEDED to have two strollers, we only had 1 baby stroller, and it was causing a real problem! LOTs of fights... so I spent the best $9.99 I have ever spent! No more fights

Also, my girls have really been girly today with the baby strollers and today I was painting my toenails... and I get a little foot that pops up on the couch... Ava is raising her foot up for me to get her toenails painted! So I painted her itty bitty toes and then Ella ran over to get her toenails painted!

Ella's toe

Ava's Toes

Speaking of girly... we went to Old Navy for a quick shopping trip and found these adorable Diva sunglasses and just HAD to purchase them, so now I have two little diva's on my hand!!!

Ella in her diva sunglasses...

Ella pushed her glasses to the top of her forehead like I do! Monkey see.. Monkey Do!

Having it all together?

Lately several people have said to me, "Gosh you just have it all together," or, "You are like super mom." They are referring to my having time to cook and having the cooking blog and making things for the kids, like burp cloths and bows and wondering where I get the time. Well, my hubby stays home for 6 days in a row every other week, so I have a lot of help! Trust me, NO mom has it all together, and anyone who thinks they do is kidding themselves, because we are all just trying to survive and do our best. If you are someone who looks at someone else thinking they have it all together, you are very wrong to think that, because I promise you, that mom doesn't feel like she has it together and I promise you she struggles too with confidence in what she is doing, "is it the best?" Those thoughts are things that EVERY mother thinks. Yes, some people make things look easier than others, but that doesn't mean they don't struggle too. I am a born multi-tasker... I can do several things at once, I learned how to use the girls nap time wisely and also to sit around and take a break when I need it. No harm in letting the kids watch a little Mickey Mouse occasionally to just relax and get a few things done.. it's sanity for the mother! :)

Now that I am done with my ramble... here are some pictures to make up for it!

Fun outside

The weather was decent the other day and we took the girls outside for some fun in the sun! Snack time at the picnic table and some time on the slide. Until we move and have a decent backyard for kids to play in, our little side yard will have to do... the deck in the back takes up most of our backyard, so it will be soooo nice to have a huge yard to watch the kids play in!

Our First Boo-Boo

Ella has her first Boo Boo, and it is sooo sad... look at this little baby face... isn't is sad??
Her day started out bad at church... she fell and got a bloody nose while in the nursery, I got paged to come and when I got there Ella pointed to her nose and said, "nose! Mama" I almost started crying, she was upset so I held her and brought her back into church with us. She fell asleep... if that wasn't all for the nose yesterday then we would be okay... but, later we went to play outside on the slide and we were back and forth eating snacks at the picnic table. Our grass is thick and uneven in places and Ella lost her footing and fell nose first into the picnic table... hence the sad little scraped up nose. Poor sweet baby girl. We snuggled her most of the night and treated her like a baby... I mean what else do you expect parents to do when their little girl gets hurt for the first time? :)
