25 things.....

This is about me and not the babies, so I apologize.

25 random things, copy and paste and send it out.
1. I am a mother of twin girls, Ella Rae and Ava Paige, they are fraternal... no more questions:) kidding. I got sick of answering the questions about them.
2. I love workign with children with Autism, for the record... never use the word "Autistic" it irritates people and it sounds stupid. It is a child with Autism.
3. I hate popcorn, I am 1 of the 5 people in teh world who hates popcorn, my mom used to burn it as a child and I have never liked it since. Plus she'd offer it to all of my friends, I got burnt out on burnt popcorn. I am married to another 1 of the 5 people in the world who hates it.
4. I love sushi, I made my husband try it, you can tell alot about a person if they like or dont' like sushi I think. Sushi people are a different breed, we are daring people.
5. I bite my nails, I have for years. I grew them out several times but it just doesn't suit me. I am a short nail girl and I like it. Besides, I have totally different mannerisms with long nails. I am a stranger to myself.
6. Soggy bread makes me want to vomit
7. I need to have a blanket on when I am laying down. No matter the temp, it makes me feel safe.
8. I can deal with vomit, boogers, drool, even runny poop, but hard loaf poop pushes me over the edge.
9. I used to pay to wax my eyebrows every 2 weeks. I finally bought the stuff myself thinking it wouldn't be that hard. Wrong again, I ended up waxing the middle of my eyebrow off. One day when I was at school the eyebrow pencil I ahd been usign to fill it in rubbed off. I used a crayola brown marker to fill it in. (super ghetto teacher style) Everyone made fun of me. Still do to this day.
10. I hate pedicures, they always hurt my feet and the ladies peel off my cuticles and it hurts, I mean blood is drawn.
11. Slow drivers ruin my life. RUIN IT. I have massive road rage which doesn't fair well in this sweet little state of Texas. People don't like ti when I give them the what for look. Old people get a free pass, unless you are an old woman, you shouldn't be driving. Old men are too cute, they can do what they want.
12. I hate doing laundry and dishes. I dont' even own an ironing board. Okay I am lying, my dad just bought me one, but it doesn't count because it is still in teh box. He said I was a hillbilly for not ironing my clothes. No time and who cares.
13. I like baking, but I hate pies and cakes. I didn't even eat cake at my wedding, except for the bite I had to choke down that we fake fed eachother.
14. I never drank Iced tea until I moved to Texas, it is a staple here, so get used to it. Never order it in the midwest once you have had it fresh brewed in teh South. It is lipton from a mix in the midwest, you will be disapointed. (I learned the hard way.)
15. I talk to my mom everyday, for at least 10 minutes, sometimes 2x a day, it is how I survive living this far from my family.
16. I have 2 brothers in their 40's. That is weird to say. I always wanted to have kids close together so that they would have someone to take family vacations with, I was so lonely. Mission accomplished I guess.
17. I am obsessed with crime shows. I mean I really am. I used to watch Unsolved Mysteries like a mad women, trying to solve a mystery. I did too, Daniels friends birth parents are lookign for him, but Daniel won't let me tell his friend. Too bad, b/c it is a mystery I solved after dedicating years to Unsolved Mysteries. Daniel says I am weird because I always check the side of the road when I see the plastic bags, like a body will be in it or something.
18. I wear mens socks. I think I have stolen at least 20 pairs from my dad. He has to replenish his goldtoes when I leave. I am a theif of socks.
19. I have never smoked anything in my life. I think it is gross, so I vowed never to try it.
20. I hate talking on the phone, which is random and unbelievable to people, because I am always on the phone, but I don't like calling people, it makes me nervous.
21. I have nothing private, I am very outspoken and nothing is a secret to me, unless it is a secret someone told me, I keep secrets, I'd give you an example of a secret I have kept for years for one of my friends, but that would blow it, so I won't.
22. I faked eye exams as a child to get glasses, then as an adult to get colored contacts, now I really need glasses, how ironic... dont' ya think?
23. I try to sing every song on the radio, even if I don't know the lyrics, I kinda belt it out and hope no one notices.
24. I wouldn't mind having twins again. Yep, crazy.
25. I am a very defiant person, I am stubborn and to the point. I never stood up for myself as a teen, but I am making up for it now. I dont' take crap from anyone and it is not a good thing now. I need to work on it. I have a hard time admitting when I am wrong and I love to get into debates with people.

Pinky and Thumb explanation

Daniel calls Ava "The Thumb" because she is very thumby. :) She looks like a giant thumb. Ella is tiny, she looks like a pinky.. hence she is "The pinky." So it is the pinky and the thumb.

The Pinky and the Thumb

Lets see, what is new? Ella and Ava both started eating food. They hate rice cereal, but love carrots and prunes. They kinda like squash and bananas.. not together. They hate green beans and are unsure of peas. Peaches are too sweet and so are pears, but they will eat them somewhat when mixed with the cereal. They are so funny these days. THey are sleeping in their cribs, no fun for me because I am getting up when they wake up in the middle of the night. For all the slack I got about them in their bouncy seats next to the bed I want to give a big POO POO to those who said it, because at least they were sleeping 12 straight hours. Maybe if you had such a problem with it you should've come here and gotten up every 2 hours to tend to them making noise in their bed... okay I feel much better now!

It is cute because we have a little bedtime routine, feed, bath, book, prayers, music... goodnight. They fall asleep so well, no complaints, it just 7 hours later I am up a creek! THey start talking back and forth to eachother, then the talking turns to crying. I walk in and get 2 big goofy grins. I have to say it is always worth the trip for those grins.

I love them so much and have so much fun being mommy all day long, but I do have to say at the end of the day with squash in my hair and peaches on my shoulder it is nice to take a shower and relax!

Enjoy the photos

Food and Sleep

Okay, it's been awhile since I've written and not just posted pictures. The girls are a little ove 4 months now and doing so well. The holidays were great and we enjoyed a visit from my parents. They could stay for a week and enjoy watching the girls to give Daniel and I some relief. It was fun for them to see how much they changed. Ava and Ella have both started to eat solids! Well.. baby food. They eat cereal and green beans, peaches, bananas and applesauce. THey both are able to roll over, chat all the time, eat their hands, blow bubbles with their lips, smile all the time and cry! :) They are so much fun and we are just having the best time raising them.

Finally they have taken the big leap into sleep in their cribs instead of next to our beds. They have always been great sleepers and slept through the night at 2 months, but they have transitioned well into their cribs and continued to sleep the entire night (12hours) and then an additional 2 hours after that. Well, I shouldn't brag, this is the second night, but they went right down! :) It was fun doing a bedtime routine them, something I have always thought of doing with my baby.. but now it is twice the fun with babies!!!

Ella is a sweet little girl with a soft cue. She often giggles and smiles at Daniel and I readily. It takes her time to smile at others, she studies them first. Ava is cutiepie and will smile at the couch. She will smile at strangers who look at her in her seat, she is a little ham. She also has the temper and can go from 0-60 in about 2 seconds. She recovers quickly and is a lovey little thing.

Everyone tells you how fast time goes, but it is sad to experience how fast it really does go. If I were superwomen I'd want to try for another baby by now because it feels like the time just goes by..... but I"m not and we won't be doing that for another 2-3 years! :)

We will continue to keep you all updated and post pictures of the babies tasting their first food!
